Founded in 2012, Imagine International Academy of North Texas is an open-enrollment public charter school located in McKinney, Texas. Funded by the state of Texas, there is no tuition associated with attending the school.
We are one of less than ten schools in the United States offering the internationally-recognized college preparatory continuum of all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes (Primary Years Programme for grades K-5, Middle Years Programme for grades 6-10, and the Diploma Programme for grades 11-12) within a single setting at no cost to families.
For the 2017-2018 school year, our graduating seniors were offered over $3M in scholarships. Our average score for the May 2018 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme examination session was 32 points, above the worldwide average score. Students who earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma are eligible for a minimum of 24 hours of college credit at any public institution of higher education in the state of Texas.
Students from our three graduating classes so far have been accepted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, Brown University, Rice University, University of Notre Dame, Emory University, University of California - Berkeley, University of California - Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Texas at Austin, and Texas A&M University, among many others.
We were rated a Gold Medal High School for 2018 by the U.S. News & World Report and ranked as the top charter school in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, #8 out of 601 public high schools in the state of Texas, and #49 out 20,500 public high schools in the country.
We were also recognized by the Texas Commissioner of Education for being one of only 38 single-campus school districts state-wide earning the highest state academic performance rating of an “A” as well as earning six distinction designations.
Our school also earned the highest state rating for financial performance, receiving an “A: Superior” Charter First Financial Rating from the Texas Education Agency.
